Marinetech – all around and in the thick of the action

News and glimpses behind the scenes

The Marinetech team can be found wherever stainless steel connecting elements are used and needed. We attend trade fairs and network with people and companies from a multitude of specialist fields. Taking this broader view allows us to respond to trends in a targeted manner and to develop new ideas.

  • 10 years of working in the Marinetech team

From sales to product management – the focus is on technology

    With understanding and humour
Heiko Klünder originally started his Marinetech career in sales. But he quickly developed a passion for IT and data technology, which occupied increasingly larger areas in the company. Over the years, he gained a lot of expertise and acquired comprehensive skills, which significantly advanced our sales. He's been a part of the product management team since 2019. Here he's in charge of introducing and installing our PIM system and is also responsible for ongoing data processing. He has taken data quality here to a whole new level. On top of this, he's responsible for the web shop, our print catalogue as well as a number of other product and quality issues.

Heiko Klünder is a genuine all-rounder, an asset to Marinetech and, with his comradely and humorous nature, simply indispensable to our team!

  • Two decades of Marinetech

Our warmest congratulations go out to her!

not to be imagined without :)
Erika Brockmann has been a pillar of our logistics for 20 years. Reliable and committed, she ensures all the processes run smoothly, with a smile on her face. She is always open to our customers' special wishes and extra requirements, making her a vital member of our service area!

When we moved to the Weser riverbank location at Marschgehren 16 in 2016, when our fully automated small parts warehouse replaced the old conventional warehouse, Erika Brockmann rose to this new digital challenge with ambitious enthusiasm, fun and verve. After just a short training period, she and her team were able to ensure that every single product found the right and quickest way from our 40,000 container locations to our customers.

A truly brilliant accomplishment – and huge thanks to her for that!

  • Donation handover in the harbour breeze, Überseestadt

Support for a great idea – Balu and Du

    More on the heart project
At the joint breakfast in the Überseestadt district, not only did we make new contacts, have interesting discussions and celebrate the sporting successes of the German Chair Hockey Masters, but it was the handover of donations for such a great project that took centre stage. 7,500 euros were collected for the committed team at „Balu und Du”. With their extraordinary concept, the association supports children, who will be especially looking forward to getting more attention: young, committed people volunteer to individually sponsor a child for at least one year. Through personal commitment and active leisure activities, they help these children to develop in our society and learn how to successfully master the challenges of everyday life.

Claudia Fantz and Leonie Wollenhaupt from "Balu und Du" in Bremen reported on their heart project and explained to us how the money will be used. This means: we will be able to provide a number of fantastic new experiences for kids of primary school age.

We are looking forward to these and would like to thank all of the participants and especially our organiser BKE Fislage once again for the great way they have organised the event!

The German Chair Hockey Masters – a film review of a wonderful day!

  • Tauwerkhalter

The rope holder – our product tip

A superb solution for neatly mooring and easily unmooring ropes and rope ends, whether on the wall, railing, pulpit or pushpit.

    The special features
Our Marinetech rope holder consists of two parts: the sturdy hook and a mount – either in the form of a pipe mount (for pipes measuring 20 / 22 / 25 mm in diameter) or as a screw-on wall mount.
A particularly practical feature for yachts and boats is that the hook is shaped so that mooring lines or halyards tied in the ring simply slide into the open hook, hang freely but securely and can be removed again at any time without releasing a safety catch. While the rope holder is used on railings, handrails and – of course – jetties in harbours, it is also suitable for completely different fields. Alternative potential areas of application include use as a power cable or hose mount in warehouses, garages or gardens, or as a mount for lines and halters in stables and workshops.

All parts are made of A4 stainless steel.

You can find the rope holder on page 15 of our Marinetech Product News 2020!

  • Marinetech at the German Chair Hockey Masters

On 29 November, the office chair hockey championships took place for the eighth time in hall 7, hosted by BKE-Fislage, Ritterhude.

    Hockey fever grips Marinetech
Of course, there was no way we were going to miss it!
Marinetech sent 9 active team members onto the field, supported by 20 highly spirited colleagues. In total, 64 teams representing over 100 companies from all over Germany battled it out.

The first matches kicked off at 2 p.m. We started the match with our "Rost - FREI" rallying call and pushed ourselves to the peak of performance. The result wasn't too bad at all: we won the first of the 3 group games 6-1, then although we lost the second 1-5, we went on to win the decider and go through to the intermediate round with a whitewash: 6-0! We only narrowly missed out on the quarter final, coming second in the group with a 1-2 result against LBS. We should have the chance to get our revenge in November 2021 though. We'll definitely be taking part then as well!

The Circus Roncalli performance and an energetic dance routine by the cheerleaders of the EWE Baskets from Oldenburg helped to create a great atmosphere. The Chair Hockey Masters are not just about sport and having fun though. As in previous years, charitable causes were also firmly in the spotlight. All donations go to the Bremen branch of the "Balu und Du" project, where trained mentors look after children who don't have it so easy in life.

After the final we descended on the buffet to recharge our dancing feet before DJ Toddi launched the 'after chair hockey party', ending at around 2 o'clock in the morning ...

Our conclusion: a successful event and we'll be sure to take part again. Thanks to all players for their great efforts and to BKE-Fislage for the outstanding organisation!

  • A new French recruit

At the heart of the action: Rosalie Schuster, the latest addition to our Sales Division

    The new voice
If you've got questions about 'mousquetons' or 'tiges filetées' (that's 'carabiners' and 'threaded rods' to our English-speaking readers) and would rather receive advice in French about 'produits en acier inoxydable de haute qualité' ('high-quality stainless steel products'), Rosalie Schuster will be the woman on the other end of the phone. She's been part of our Export team in France since the start of this month and will be delighted to advise callers on all our items. Ms Schuster is looking forward to taking your call – and we're looking forward to enjoying a pleasant cooperative relationship with her!
  • News from the Marinetech warehouse

The Logistics team is in a celebratory mood

    One anniversary, two new apprentices
Mr Andreas Dreger, Head of our Logistics Department, is celebrating 20 years at Marinetech this month. This anniversary is certainly very special and we'd like to thank Mr Dreger from the bottom of our hearts for the good times we've had together and for the amazing job he does! But, above all else, we're looking forward to many more years of excellent cooperation!

The same naturally applies to Marvin Heilshorn and Ramil Kraft. These two young men, if we can call them that, started their training as warehouse logistics specialists at Marinetech on 1 August. They'll both sit their journeyman's examination in three years' time. Until then, they'll be attentively joining in, learning, practising and staying on the ball. They can rest assured that the strong Marinetech team is behind them and has their backs. We'll support them where we can and are delighted they're with us!

  • Ausbildung abgeschlossen

Ole's now properly part of the Marinetech community

Our apprentice has passed his final examination

That's clearly a cause for celebration
It's official now! Ole Zwirnmann is now officially a warehouse logistics specialist – with a forklift licence to boot! He's tackled his training with plenty of power and perseverance, and we're absolutely delighted that he's now on the journeyman's side!

We're even more delighted that he's decided to stay on at Marinetech as a warehouse operator, bringing all his enthusiasm and the many skills he acquired during his training along with him. In his future remit, he'll be responsible for our automatic small parts warehouse, among other things.

We celebrated the occasion with a surprise breakfast for everyone! Ole was given a 'special surprise pack' all of his very own that contained his favourite tasty treats – which he naturally had to share with us :-)
Here's to continuing our positive cooperative relationship, Ole!

  • Chair-Hockey Tunier

The Marinetech team at the Chair Hockey Tournament in Bremen

We respect traditions! We also attach a great deal of importance to sporting team spirit outside of working hours.

    To the success report
Hockey on office chairs – what was initially a crazy idea has turned into a serious event over the last ten years. And it's something that we at Marinetech are always very enthusiastic about!
The seventh 'German Chair Hockey Masters' was a resounding success. It was a terrific experience, attracting almost one thousand participants and fans. Once the sporting competitions had come to an end, everyone came together for the after-show party, which was great fun and provided a wonderful opportunity to spend time together – both within the teams and with the other competitors!
This year's event was the first time that a team won the coveted title for the second time. Having already taken the top spot on the podium back in 2011, the 'Chairleader' team from the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials (IFAM) repeated this triumph on 10 November in Hall 7 of Bremen Exhibition Centre.
Securing a clear 7:1 victory, the second-time winners prevailed in the final against 'Die Automatisierer' from Aukos. While the atmosphere was very much one of celebration, the focus was really on the charitable cause. The proceeds generated by the seventh 'German Chair Hockey Masters' will be donated to Bremer Fonds e. V. The association devotes its energies to educating and training young people and to working against violence and crime.
  • METS 2019

    Meet and greet

Marinetech at the METSTRADE Show 2018 in Amsterdam

    How it went
'Mets' is the world's largest B2B trade fair for marine equipment and accessories. It's a show where more than 1,350 exhibitors showcase their services and products.
A large professional audience from all over the world comes together and meets in Amsterdam for three whole days. As a long-time exhibitor, Marinetech is effectively a member of the core team, and each year we look forward to holding exciting and informative discussions with our business partners yet again.
In addition to presenting new products – and our current catalogue – this year our new stand at the trade show mainly dealt with our customers' requests and suggestions. We took a great deal of inspiration and lots of ideas home with us, which we will implement before Mets 2019 comes around!
